Hey everyone! I just realized it’s been a while since I’ve done a makeup review on the blog so I’m excited to get back to it! Today I’m reviewing MAKE Beauty which is a brand you might recognize if you ever shop at Nasty Gal! You can also find their products in Barneys store & on Birchbox. MAKE Beauty is a brand that is paraben-free, never tested on animals, & a percentage of the sales is donated to their non-profit partner, We See Beauty Foundation. This foundation supports women-led, worker-owned cooperative businesses across the Americas!
MAKE Beauty has provided for my readers a special 20% off discount on their site with the code “MAKEYOURSELF”, valid until 4/15! See below for my thoughts on the products I tried as well as pics of me wearing them! (Keep in mind the products in the pictures are sample sized- the actual products are much bigger!)
Matte Finish Eyeshadow in “Alabaster”– $25- This eyeshadow is a “velvety matte powder [that] goes on smoothly with a crease-resistant, oil-free formula. Vitamins C and E help to provide antioxidant protection for the delicate eye area.
I definitely liked the formula of this eyeshadow as it was really smooth and pigmented (see swatch pic below). However, “Alabaster” was too light to really be visible on my eyelid (see pic below), therefore I don’t plan to use this as eyeshadow in the future. However, it would be a great shade to highlight the area under the eyebrows so I will be using it for that! This shadow comes in a variety of other shades as well so I think if I would look at the other colors if I saw it in stores!
Silk Cream Lipstick in “Taffy”– $25- This is a lipstick that is also a “protective moisturizing treatment with antioxidant vitamins, rosehip, soybean oils, safflower oils, aloe, and chamomile extracts.” It has a slight gloss to it as you can see in the picture below which is great! The color “Taffy” is a medium pink color that almost reminded of a pink + nude color. My advice is if you use one of these lipsticks, be sure to exfoliate your lips in advance because dry lips will show through. In general, I am someone who likes to save money so unfortunately, I think I would prefer a drugstore lipstick over these lipsticks.
MAKE Beauty has a wide selection of products that you can check out! They are on the pricey side and I wouldn’t personally pay the full price for the products though. If you’re like me, then don’t forget to use the 20% off discount code “MAKEYOURSELF” if you want to try products from this brand (valid until 4/15)! Have a lovely week!
Thank you to Brandbacker and MAKE Beauty for sponsoring this post! All opinions are 100% my own.
