Processed with VSCO with c1 presetHi everyone! If you’ve been following me on Instagram, then you know that I recently returned from a trip to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Tianjin, China! I do long flights every few years to China to visit family in addition to flights across the US and to Europe (you could say I’m pretty familiar with long flights). On my flight from Beijing to my connection in Detroit (14 hours long), I realized that I had brought specific items with me to get through the flight easily and comfortably. I wanted to do a guide to share those with you. Also! Since it’s the holiday season, I wanted to share some gift ideas for if you have a friend or family member in your life that travels frequently!

Essentials for an International Flight

Headphones are a must for me on an international flight! You’ll definitely need to drown out the sound of the engine and crying babies to enjoy your flight! I use Frends headphones (Item 1) which get out about 50% of the sound but if you really want peace, get the Bose ones (Item 2)- they’re amazing! A book (Item 3) was so nice to have on my flight b/c it was a nice break for my eyes when I had looked at a screen too long (PS this book is so good!). In terms of skincare, I brought a lot of products with me b/c dry skin is so uncomfortable! Trust me, after a super long flight you will look tired so having eye products like 4, 6, 7, & 8 are needed during & after the flight. Lastly I love being comfy! I love the look & feel of a cropped loose sweater and high waisted leggings (Items 5 & 9).

Gift Guide for a Jetsetter

As a frequent traveler, there plenty of things I’ve thought about buying but didn’t want to spend the money on for myself. I thought of those items & included them here because I think they’d made great gifts! A scratch-off world map (1) would be so great for someone to keep track of the spots they’ve been. I can’t tell you how many times I almost got #3.. a lot haha It’s also perfect for international flights where alcohol is usually complimentary on some airlines. (5) is not a pouch, it’s a mini emergency kit with a ton of essentials like breath drops, deodorant, tampons, etc that you might forget and need! My current favorite carry on is my Kenneth Cole suitcase (2) because it has a lot of compartments, is light, and super easy to roll around. The Away suitcase (4) is the one that has a lifetime warranty and can charge your phone (shown below)! So cool!
