Hi everyone! WOW 2018 is almost here and I’ve realized that working full time makes the year fly by even faster than other periods of my life. I asked you all on instagram if you’d rather see this post or a different one & this one won so here are my most repurchased products of 2017! ALSO, I included a little reflection of my year at the end of this post so check that out too! (If anyone is wondering what lipstain I’m wearing in the pic above, it’s this stain in the shade “Continual Crimson 213”!)
Dress | Leather Jacket (similar one here)| Scarf (in green here, in pink & blue here) | Purse (50% off!) | Boots (similar one here) | Tights | Lipstain (Shade: “Crunk”)
Hi everyone! Winter always calls for dressing in layers & I’ve found that it is also essential to have a blanket scarf because they add so much warmth! I got mine recently in my Stitchfix box & I’m obsessed (literally have been wearing it daily). When you’re going somewhere outside, you can wear the scarf around your neck, & then when you get inside, you can keep the scarf on but as a shaw to keep you warm. It’s the perfect accessory everyone needs. Also one random thing I wanted to add about this post is that I included 12 random facts about my current life at the end if you want to check that out. J
Since I work full time & it’s hard to find time to shoot in the winter with the sun setting so early, I was thrilled when ATL photographer Shawn Michael Craig said that he was open to shooting in the morning with me. It was so cold (under 40 degrees) but it was a blast shooting together! I am so impressed by how these pics turned out and definitely recommend him if you’re looking for a photographer! Hi everyone! If you’ve been following me on Instagram, then you know that I recently returned from a trip to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Tianjin, China! I do long flights every few years to China to visit family in addition to flights across the US and to Europe (you could say I’m pretty familiar with long flights). On my flight from Beijing to my connection in Detroit (14 hours long), I realized that I had brought specific items with me to get through the flight easily and comfortably. I wanted to do a guide to share those with you. Also! Since it’s the holiday season, I wanted to share some gift ideas for if you have a friend or family member in your life that travels frequently!
Essentials for an International Flight
Ah I am actively trying to catch up on blog posts from last month since I was in both NYC & Asia! I am so grateful for being able to travel to NYC so often & for getting to know the city better than I ever thought I would (I’m going to get a “Girl’s Guide to NYC” post up soon!). On my last trip, my Mom went with me for half of it & we had a great time exploring the Chinatown in Flushing, rooftop bars in Flatiron (one featured below), and so much more! My favorite outfit I wore on the weekend was for sure this ruffle look! The softness of the ruffles & baby blue really balanced the edgy, dark look of my jeans & leather jacket. My boss once called my top “funky” in a nice way. Haha I love it & suggest giving ruffles a try (I didn’t expect myself to like them as much as I do now!).
I wanted to do something a little different today on the blog and show you guys how to make the perfect Fall charcuterie board! It’s perfect for if you’re going to have a gathering with friends or head to the park with someone for a picnic. I have always loved seeing pictures of charcuterie on my Instagram feed or seeing how chefs style them when I feel like splurging a little at a restaurant. I was pretty proud of how this turned out and was surprised by how easy it was to put together with just a few ingredients. My favorite ingredient I used was the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese- it is so delicious, has a great semi-dry texture, and is the perfect amount of salty (I can’t wait to use it in future charcuterie boards or grate it over pasta!) It has been made the same way for over 900 years and is produced exclusively in the provinces of Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena and parts of the provinces of Mantua and Bologna.
I’m excited to be partnering today with Tobi, a women’s apparel company, for another post (you can find the first one here). Somethings that I’ve been loving this fall are the colors maroon and deep red. When I saw this maxi skirt on Tobi’s site, I had to have it. I paired it with booties and this Tobi crocheted shirt and love how this outfit came out with a little boho flare! I find the slit to be a little high on the skirt but it can be paired with some spanx under or a pair of tights so that you don’t have to worry about it. I took these pictures in the park with my friends Isabella and Vino (he took the pics!) & after we had a little picnic in the park which made for an awesome evening!
