I’ve been so excited to be back in Manhattan this week after a month of being away (since I changed work projects and my new client’s not in NYC). There’s just something special about this city that makes me want to stay outside for an extra minute or to go to one more new place I’ve never been. One thing I’ve always loved is the way that people dress here and look effortlessly stylish. An outfit that’s really easy in my opinion to feel confident in is a maxi dress. For this particular look, I paired mine over a royal blue scoop tee and added some dainty accessories! P.S. I also flew with this maxi dress on one time and it was so incredibly comfortable- definitely recommend doing it if you have plans in the city as soon as you fly in like I often do! Anytime I went shopping and saw a jumpsuit, I always thought that it’d look super weird on me. But a few weeks back, I was at Loft and really wanted to give this jumper a try because I’m a sucker for stripes. I have worn this to work and to casual settings and both times got a lot of compliments on it! The photos from this post are from when my friends and I went to Whiskey Blue in Buckhead for some cocktails! Since it’s more of an upscale bar, this jumpsuit was the perfect thing to wear because it felt sophisticated but still really comfortable. It does have a tendency to wrinkle, so I just steamed it twice before leaving the house. I also recently got these heels in the photos and I lovee the way they look! They’re comfortable too as long as you don’t go bar hopping in them and do a ton of walking (like I did after Whiskey Blue lol).
New tip: If you don’t have time for a pedicure before wearing heels like these, I recently discovered feet masks (linked here) and they work incredibly! Had 100% confidence in my feet after using one.
Hey everyone! If you saw my second to last post (here), then you saw my Coachella inspired casual look. I’m excited it’s festival season again and might be traveling to a festival or two this year! I wanted to do a continuation of festival related posts and show you what I wore to EDC Orlando back in November as well as pick out some pieces for you that I think would make for an amazing festival outfit! It is so crazy to me that it’s my last week in New York. I’ve been working here for the last 10 months which basically means I’ve been flying from Atlanta or another city into NYC every week for almost a year. Although I’m feeling a lot of mixed emotions, many of you know that New York City is my favorite city and there are so many things that I’m going to miss. I created a list of 10 things I’m going to miss the most and have included it at the end of this post!
Before I get into that, I’ve been wanting to create this post for a while of a casual spring/ summer outfit that’s super comfortable and perfect for exploring the city! NYC can be hot and tiring to walk in so my favorite thing to wear is a dress and sneakers- it’s so effortless! I also just got this bookbag a few weeks ago and have been eye-ing for years! It is so perfect for being out in the daytime because it fits your wallet, camera, water bottle, and anything you might buy during the day! I shot these pictures with photographer, Nick Avloshenko from the Craze app and love the way they turned out!
Who else has major FOMO after seeing all the Coachella photos on Instagram? * Raises hand *. One of my friends and I have said that we were going to go for the last three years but it keeps not happening so every time the pics show up on my feed from Coachella, I so badly wish I was there! I always love the bohemian-themed casual outfits that all my favorite bloggers and celebrities post. I took those looks as my inspiration for this wearable weekend look featuring denim, embroidery, and jewels! I was inspired to wear my biggest necklace by fashion blogger Paola Alberdi’s Coachella look here. My next post is going to feature a festival look but I wanted to focus this post on a look that you could wear out with the girls!
Let me first get to my outfit details before I get into the whole story of why I was in NYC even though I was supposed to be in Atlanta lol (bottom of the post). My mom bought me this Cynthia Rowley trench coat about a year ago and I always get compliments on it when I wear it! It’s perfect for casual wear in the city or as a light jacket for work! This outfit was influenced by Burberry ads I had seen the week before- I love how simple but stylish this look is! Check out the links above to see where I got everything/ similar pieces.
