Last month, I flew out to Portland to meet up with my best friends who now live on the west coast! I actually told my friend Katie that our other friend Mariana wasn’t coming on the trip anymore so the first night we were in Portland she was shocked when Mariana flew in and surprised her! I always have the best time with them and it’s great to be reunited with friends who know the true you and who have been by your side for so many years (7 to be exact 🙂 )! I wanted to write out everything we enjoyed about Portland as well as some other recommendations I received from folks that we didn’t get to. Let me know your favorite spots too!
Ah I am actively trying to catch up on blog posts from last month since I was in both NYC & Asia! I am so grateful for being able to travel to NYC so often & for getting to know the city better than I ever thought I would (I’m going to get a “Girl’s Guide to NYC” post up soon!). On my last trip, my Mom went with me for half of it & we had a great time exploring the Chinatown in Flushing, rooftop bars in Flatiron (one featured below), and so much more! My favorite outfit I wore on the weekend was for sure this ruffle look! The softness of the ruffles & baby blue really balanced the edgy, dark look of my jeans & leather jacket. My boss once called my top “funky” in a nice way. Haha I love it & suggest giving ruffles a try (I didn’t expect myself to like them as much as I do now!).
Guys I am having a serious itch for travel. I feel like I sound so bratty when I say I miss going on a plane because it’s only really been a month.. Lol but it’s different when you’re previously used to flying every week. I’ve been going back through some old travel pics and remembered that I was waiting to post about this outfit I wore a few months ago in SF until it became more fall-like in the South. I was so comfy wearing this loose sweater, skinny jeans, & sneakers while exploring the Mission and Dolores Park. My friends even tricked me into urban hiking in this outfit when we climbed up to Corona Heights Summit (the view was totally worth it). See what spots I explored on this trip at the bottom of the post (see my previous SF Travel Guide here). Shout out to my friends Neel, Mariana, and Isabella for shooting these pics at the summit and Clarion Alley (an awesome spot filled with murals)!
Alot happened yesterday & today so blogging is the perfect distraction. If you saw my last post, then you know that in July I took a last minute trip to LA to visit my roomie, Isabella, who was on a project out there! Every time I travel, I try to plan as efficiently as possible & do that through mapping everything I want to do out on My Maps (by Google)- you can also share the map with your friends to include places they want to go! Here is everything we did in a little over 3 days!
I can’t seem to stay away from California. I love it so much and have been fortunate enough to visit LA twice and San Francisco this year. These photos were shot on my second trip to LA a month ago when I last minute booked a flight to meet up with my roommate, Isabella, who was on a project in LA. We had so much fun and I finally hit a ton of spots that I had been meaning to (part 2 of this post will be about what we actually did). I was surprised at how hot it got while we were in LA (85+ degrees) so I’m thankful I wore a lightweight dress the day we went to LACMA. If you’re ever in the area, definitely check it out- the museum is huge! Also, since I always try to be comfortable when exploring, these new sandals were perfect for getting me through the day. Leave me your favorite LA spots in the comments below bc I will go back!
One of the trips I took recently, that I meant to post about earlier, was a trip with my friend Britanny to Savannah, GA! Savannah is an adorable, old-style southern town. It’s known for things like colorful historic homes, trees covered in Spanish moss, southern cooking/ seafood, a huge St. Paddy’s day celebration, and the filming of Forrest Gump. Since Southern GA gets really hot in the summer, I sported two outfits in Savannah that both had spaghetti straps and were lightweight. Because we did a lot of walking around as well, I made sure to wear comfy clothes & sported sneakers & flat sandals. Check out what we did there!
