I’m so excited to finally share with you all my girl’s guide to NYC! You might be thinking “Emily, you live in Atlanta, how are you confident that you know enough about NYC to do a “guide”?” Have no fear, I worked every week in NYC for 10 months (yes flying back & forth between cities) & also consistently still go back. Although there are SO many places I love in NYC, this is my list of my all-time favorite spots! These are the spots that if someone asked me to go right now, I would go in a heartbeat. I also included some extras in here just to make your trip in the best city in the world even better! 😉
Guys I am having a serious itch for travel. I feel like I sound so bratty when I say I miss going on a plane because it’s only really been a month.. Lol but it’s different when you’re previously used to flying every week. I’ve been going back through some old travel pics and remembered that I was waiting to post about this outfit I wore a few months ago in SF until it became more fall-like in the South. I was so comfy wearing this loose sweater, skinny jeans, & sneakers while exploring the Mission and Dolores Park. My friends even tricked me into urban hiking in this outfit when we climbed up to Corona Heights Summit (the view was totally worth it). See what spots I explored on this trip at the bottom of the post (see my previous SF Travel Guide here). Shout out to my friends Neel, Mariana, and Isabella for shooting these pics at the summit and Clarion Alley (an awesome spot filled with murals)!
Alot happened yesterday & today so blogging is the perfect distraction. If you saw my last post, then you know that in July I took a last minute trip to LA to visit my roomie, Isabella, who was on a project out there! Every time I travel, I try to plan as efficiently as possible & do that through mapping everything I want to do out on My Maps (by Google)- you can also share the map with your friends to include places they want to go! Here is everything we did in a little over 3 days!
It is so crazy to me that it’s my last week in New York. I’ve been working here for the last 10 months which basically means I’ve been flying from Atlanta or another city into NYC every week for almost a year. Although I’m feeling a lot of mixed emotions, many of you know that New York City is my favorite city and there are so many things that I’m going to miss. I created a list of 10 things I’m going to miss the most and have included it at the end of this post!
So I originally requested to start my full time job on June 6th but got pushed back all the way to July 26th which in a way was actually a blessing. It gave me time to get to go on two trips that were far and awesome! The trip I went on the weekend before I started work was to Toronto with my parents! We started out by flying into Toronto and driving to Niagara Falls. Guys, it’s true, the Canada side really is more beautiful (and way bigger). The next day, we drove to Toronto and explored the city! I loved how large and urban this whole city was! Canadian cities have a certain beauty to them because you can see the European influence on certain structures as well as unique clean Canadian designs! I definitely feel very lucky to get to Canada two times within a month! (See my previous post about Victoria, BC, Canada here.) See where I went in Toronto below!
Lace Top: Marshalls (similar option here)| Cardigan: Forever21 | Leather Jacket: A market in Italy (similar one here) | Denim: GAP | Sunglasses: Free People | Purse: Steve Madden (on sale!) | Flats: Target (so comfy!) | Sneakers: Target (shoes for biking) | Umbrella: totes (on sale!)
Recently my best friend, Mariana, moved out to San Francisco for her job and although I had heard so many great things about SF, I had never actually been myself! My friend, Natasha, hadn’t been either so we decided to take a trip to visit Mariana! Sometimes when friends move away, I small part of me gets scared that I’ll never seen them again but I’m glad this isn’t always the case. ❤
Natasha and I were absolutely blown away by San Francisco. We just could not believe how beautiful the city was and how it basically has everything you could need: places to hike, the beach, the city, etc. Unreal city- I still can’t believe it’s Mariana’s new home. The jealousy level was high. Lol We loved having Mariana show us around her favorite spots because she really gave us a feel of what is was like to be a local in SF. See below to see everything we did! (For additional food recommendations, check out my other post here).
