Trend to Try: Mulberry Lips!

Β

In the last month, I’ve really been loving darker lip colors for the Fall and Winter! Mulberry lips are a recent trend that has been spotted on celebrities and the runway! I would describe Mulberry as being a rich, dark burgundy color. So this holiday season, if red is too bright of a color for you, then go for the deeper, more sophisticated look with Mulberry lips!

Summer Trend to Try: Tribal Prints!!

I have really been looking into trends recently. Now I know that this tribal trend started around last summer but I think it is still in and looks so colorful and unique! The prints add so much texture to any clothing item and are easy to match! I created this collage when I was styling my friend’s wardrobe but I definitely wanted to share it with all of you! Let me know what you think! ❀ Almost all of the pieces are from Forever 21 or Charlotte-Russe. Happy summer! πŸ™‚

Trend to Try: Sleek Ponytails

A common trend that I have been in love with for the last few months is a sleek ponytail. As an athletic girl, I used to only think that ponytails were for sportswear but now I see how much they can add to an outfit. Nowadays, whenever I see an outfit that I would love to wear but is a little out of my comfort zone, I always think “Gosh this would be so cute with a high ponytail.” And so, I wanted to tell you all that this is definitely a trend worth trying.

I would suggest this trend for those of you who have long hair. If you have short hair, I think it would only work for you if you have thin hair which falls nicely at least past your neck. I think a sleek ponytail is so versatile and perfect for a professional, casual, or dressed-up look. Here are some photos to inspire you too and ways to change up your ponytail. πŸ™‚

Try this style on a second hair day (after not washing your hair for a day)! This is a tip from a lady I used to work for. This works because the natural oils in your hair will keep you from having a ton of flyaways and make it easier for you to comb back your hair. This will also prevent you from putting unnecessary hair products into your hair as this can cause buildup.

Ways to change up your ponytail:

1. Wrap-around:Β

A common technique when hair has been tied up is to take a medium sized strand and wrap it around the pony tail holder. This adds a point of interest to a rather simple hairstyle. This can also be done with braided strands of hair (as shown in the last photo).

2. Braid in the front:

This is a great accent to your ponytail because it brings a lot of attention to your hair! Little details like a braid are subtle but still chic!

Β 3. Boho headband:

My inspiration for this last idea was actually from watching Meganheartsmakeup’s Youtube video on Spring Hairstyles (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2G97yurnyM). These types of headbands, especially if you get a white one, can add a bohemian touch to any look! I think they are perfect for Spring and Summer and just remind me of warm weather!

Let me know what you think of this trend! I hope you found this helpful! ❀ ❀

Trend to Try: Shoe Buckles!!

My friend Chandler was recently trying to persuade me to help her bring back the trend of shoe buckles! I was not convinced at first (especially because every time I googled “shoe buckles” I was given a picture of leprechaun shoes haha) but after seeing her shoes, I thought it was a good idea! Here is what she was wearing that day!

Now these are not very easy to find but my friend said that she got them from her grandmother. So since these are very vintage-y, you can probably find them at a thrift store! Which is a plus because that means it will not be very expensive! The other day I actually saw some being sold at Target and they were actually really cute! The buckles that are in the pictures above are very easy to put on as they are clip-ons. They are gorgeous and have tons of detailing on them! I found this website that sells shoe clips but I do not swear by this company or anything because I have never ordered anything from them. I’m not sponsored by them either but the website is: http://shoeclips.biz/index.aspx. If you are still not convinced about this shoe buckle trend yet then check out the following photos and picture yourself adding this accessory to your wardrobe! It would be very stylish and you would be a trend setter!

And here are some shoes with buckles!

Let me know what you think about this trend and whether or not you will try it!

Trend to Try: Lace!

A trend that I have definitely noticed at school recently is lace. Whether it is on girls’ sweater or their tights, it is surely becoming popular. Lace just adds an attention-grabbing, feminine touch to any outfit. I personally love it because it makes me feel bold and edgy. If you are not yet comfortable with wearing lace pieces, you could start small with things such as lace purses, jewelry, or shoes. Several celebrities are also really liking the lace trend. The celebrities featured in the photos below are Taylor Swift, Taylor Momsen, Dakota Fanning, Ashley Greene, and Lauren Conrad.
