REVIEW: Rimmel Waterproof Eyeliners

Eyeliner: Definitely one of my favorite makeup items and definitely an essential. I recently purchased two Rimmel waterproof eyeliners, tested them out for about a month, and absolutely love them! For me, I sweat pretty easily and keep my makeup on for several hours a day so I have to make sure that I buy long wearing and waterproof makeup. Rimmel products are great because they have great quality and are easily obtainable at drugstores! In this post, I’m going to review both the products separately.

Scandal Eyes Waterproof Gel Eyeliner- $6.99

I wasn’t even intending to buy a gel liner when I went to the store but this product really caught my eye. It also has a brush included in the packaging! How awesome is that? This makes it super convenient for people who are on-the-go. Formula wise, the gel is the perfect balance of firm and creamy. The only negative  is that you have to let it dry for about 20 seconds right after you apply it, otherwise it will get product on your lid when you blink. Besides that the product stays on for all day and is very pigmented. The product is also gentle enough for you to put on your waterline. You can create any look with this product from a thin line to a winged liner. Love this product!

Rimmel London Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer- $5.79

This is a great automatic eyeliner! It stays on for a super long time with minimal smudging. I’ve tested it on many of my friends too and they always look great at the end of the night even if they’ve been dancing or sweating. This liner can also achieve any look and I often do a wing liner with this. It glides on super easy and takes minimal time. This is for now my go to liner because you don’t have to be as careful when you apply it as when you use the gel liner. The only negative I would say about this is that sometimes I notice it fading on my waterline after about 4-5 hours of wear so sometimes I reapply it. Besides, that I love this product and would say it is definitely one of the best ones in the drugstore.

Let me know if you all have tried any of these products! Have a great weekend!

Favorite Drugstore Line: Revlon Colorstay!!

In my opinion, Revlon is the brand that is the highest quality in drugstores. My mom loves it and so do I! Their Colorstay line though is by far the best thing I have ever tried from a drugstore! Here are some products that I love from the line!

Revlon Colorstay Foundation– HOLY GRAIL, HOLY GRAIL PRODUCT!! I sweat really easily and this doesn’t come off at all. When you wipe your hand or sleeve across your face this doesn’t leave a single mark! I have worn this when I run and play tennis and it really does not budge. I love it! It is definitely worth the $12-13 dollars!

Under Eye Concealer SPF 15– I think this has the same formula as the foundation. It dries pretty quickly and doesn’t sink into fine lines.

Eyeliner– For the longest time, this was my favorite eyeliner because it was the most waterproof one I could find. Recently it hasn’t worked as well for me (it started smudging) but the black color is really dark so I love that. I have been using it everyday to tight line my upper water line. If you don’t have oily skin, this will work really well for you.

One product that I don’t recommend:

Overtime Lipcolor– Alright so.. I tried this product and it is extremely flakey.. The color is really nice and pigmented but when you apply a second layer of this, it starts getting peely and uncomfortable. Like after wearing it for 10 mins, I had to completely wipe it off. The gloss on the other end though is really nice and comes with a brush applicator. The color side comes with a doe foot applicator.

Let me know what your favorite drugstore line or Revlon product is!

Review: Mary Kay Products!!

I recently tried a lot of Mary Kay products and I wanted to let you know what I thought about each one! I almost bought a lot of products but after adding up all the prices it got super expensive so I just ended up getting two things! I will mention those last. 🙂

Lash Love Mascara- $15– One lady I work with loves this stuff! I complimented her one day and told her that her lashes looked really separated and long! She said she uses this stuff and it works really well! It does not have a waterproof version though. If you order it right now, you can get
it in a gift set with a makeup remover and eyelash curler for $30.

Shadow and Line Eye Duo- $16 each– *Limited Edition*– I loved the pigmentation and lasting power of these pens. The black liner on the frosted fig pen is really dark but does smudge a little. The purple though is gorgeous and a dark shimmery color!! I can’t get over how pretty it was! I also loveeee the soft jade pen. I wanted it so badly!! The green eyeshadow is like the most cool, minty color I have seen! And I didn’t try the last two colors. The reason I didn’t get this products is because I think you get way too little product for the price. The eyeshadow you’re given is about 1 inch long..

Cream Eye Color- $13– These are pretty sheer.. I liked the grey one though. It seemed like a good base for a pretty smokey eye. But the two beigey colors don’t show up. I didn’t try the pink and dark brown color though. I didn’t think this product was amazing enough to pay $13 for so that’s why I didn’t get it. I feel like you could find cheaper alternative which would be thicker and more pigmented.

Weekender Lip Pencil- $14- *Limited Edition*– I loved the one in Coral Stone (left in the picture)! I wanted to get it so badly!! These feel amazing and go on like a balm but look like a gloss because they make your lips shine! They also smell amazing! It has a vanilla-y smell to them. The coral color was perfect for my skin tone and something I could wear during the day because it’s not as bold as a red lip but not as subtle as a pink. The shade Pink Sand (on the right) was not very unique or amazing. It gave less color in my opinion than the coral one. I would only get this if you’re lips were an extremely pale/ light color otherwise it’s not worth the money.

Eau de Toilette Sugar Scrub- $15– When people saw me with these, a lot of people smelled them and gave me feedback. The exotic passionfruit was everyone’s favorite. Next, my choice would’ve been the warm amber. But after a while of smelling it, I kinda decided that it smelt like that old lady smell. The Forever Orchid is the next best smell and the Simply Cotton smell is my least favorite. I didn’t get this because the B&BW Body Scrub has 3 more ounces of product for a dollar cheaper.

Peach Satin Hands Pampering Set- $34– I really loved the first two sets in this set but I really dislike the smell of the last step. It has this plastic-y/ rubbery-y smell to it. I wish I could buy the scrub by itself because it smells and feels so good!! The first step is a really greasy cleanser but feels good when you use the scrub and then wash them all off. The hand cream does feel good because it has silicone in it but it just smells bad! You can get this set in the fragrance-free version though.

Here are the two products that I bought!!

Oil Mattifier- $15– This stuff is great! I have super oily skin and when I put this on my oily regions, it really does take away the shine! I put this over my powder and it doesn’t dry to a weird finish so that’s nice. I actually apply this with a foundation brush because I don’t want to get the oil from my fingers onto my face when trying to get rid of oil. Haha

Time Wise Firming Eye Cream- $30– This is actually really impressive! I didn’t try this on my eye but I did on my hand and it felt really thick as if it would be perfect under the eye! I got it for my mom’s birthday! Also, this is better in my opinion than the Age-Fighting Eye Cream because it is thicker. The Time Wise Firming Eye Cream is designed for women age 30 and up.

Lasting Power Test: E.L.F. Essentials Eyelid Primer VS. MAC Paint Pot

Okay so I decided to test which eyelid primer lasted the longest! The e.l.f. Eyelid Primer only costs $1 whereas the MAC Paint Pot costs $16.50. Big price difference. They both definitely make your eyeshadow last longer. I put swatches of both on my hand, put some pink eyeshadow over the top, and went through my day with it on. I washed my hands, ate, etc. Here are the results:
MAC’s Paint Pot lasted a few hours longer. Both primers were definitely waterproof as I washed my hands three times and they didn’t come off. After about four hours I accidentally swiped my hand and the e.l.f. side came off whereas the MAC one was also taken off a little bit. However, after about 6-7 hours into the test, I could still see a bit of the color and shimmer of the MAC Paint Pot.
I would say these are both good primers. If they are on your eyes and not your hands like I tested then I bet they could both last for a long time and could probably get you through a school or work day. The MAC Paint Pot definitely lasted longer but I think in the end it comes down to how much money you want to spend on a product. The plus side of the Paint Pot though is that it can be used as a cream eyeshadow too and won’t move for basically a whole day.
