10 Things I Will Miss About NYC

It is so crazy to me that it’s my last week in New York. I’ve been working here for the last 10 months which basically means I’ve been flying from Atlanta or another city into NYC every week for almost a year. Although I’m feelingΒ  a lot of mixed emotions, many of you know that New York City is my favorite city and there are so many things that I’m going to miss. I created a list of 10 things I’m going to miss the most and have included it at the end of this post!

Before I get into that, I’ve been wanting to create this post for a while of a casual spring/ summer outfit that’s super comfortable and perfect for exploring the city! NYC can be hot and tiring to walk in so my favorite thing to wear is a dress and sneakers- it’s so effortless! I also just got this bookbag a few weeks ago and have been eye-ing for years! It is so perfect for being out in the daytime because it fits your wallet, camera, water bottle, and anything you might buy during the day! I shot these pictures with photographer, Nick Avloshenko from the Craze app and love the way they turned out!_DSC6652Edited

Festival Inspired Weekend Look!

Who else has major FOMO after seeing all the Coachella photos on Instagram? * Raises hand *. One of my friends and I have said that we were going to go for the last three years but it keeps not happening so every time the pics show up on my feed from Coachella, I so badly wish I was there! I always love the bohemian-themed casual outfits that all my favorite bloggers and celebrities post. I took those looks as my inspiration for this wearable weekend look featuring denim, embroidery, and jewels! I was inspired to wear my biggest necklace by fashion blogger Paola Alberdi’s Coachella look here. My next post is going to feature a festival look but I wanted to focus this post on a look that you could wear out with the girls!IMG_3073

Let me first get to my outfit details before I get into the whole story of why I was in NYC even though I was supposed to be in Atlanta lol (bottom of the post). My mom bought me this Cynthia Rowley trench coat about a year ago and I always get compliments on it when I wear it! It’s perfect for casual wear in the city or as a light jacket for work! This outfit was influenced by Burberry ads I had seen the week before- I love how simple but stylish this look is! Check out the links above to see where I got everything/ similar pieces.IMG_2755

NYC: Strolling in Union Square

I realized recently that I’ve been working in NYC for 8 months now. :O That is so insanely crazy to me and even though my days have gotten longer and longer, I’m still so happy to be in this city. I work in Union Square and this area is so perfect! Union Square has awesome places to eat or shop, I’ve spotted Jimmy Fallon here, and I love that it’s in so many movies! Some of my favorite spots include The Bean, Republic, Liquiteria, Union Square Greenmarket, and Irving Farm Coffee Roasters.

NYC’s weather has been fluctuating a ton with days in the 50’s one week and then a blizzard the next (P.S. I survived my first blizzard! It was super short and I ended up going to work during it. Lol) I’m always wearing layers so that I don’t get uncomfortable at work or walking around the city and I typically have two things with me: 1) my work tote which is big enough for my laptop! and 2) my Frends headphones!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Day or Night Winter Maxi

Some of my favorite and most comfy outfits to wear are ones that involve layering a cropped blouse or sweater over a dress (see previous post here and here). I’ve done it again but this time with an outfit that’d work for either day or night and I love it! I got this top at Zara last month for New York fashion week and have just found myself wearing it constantly. I’ve been really into chokers as well so this blouse just screamed my name. The boots are also from Zara and are so comfortable- I don’t even feel the heel! I felt so chic with this outfit while walking through midtown!

For this post, I’m collaborating with local Atlanta photographer Angeline Danyelle! I really enjoyed working with her, loved that she was open to any ideas of how I wanted to shoot, and think that she’s really talented! Loved the way these pics turned out! Be sure to check out her photography site here. We shot at the High Museum in Atlanta!IMG_0268 Continue reading “Day or Night Winter Maxi”
